In 2015, Ellison was created from humble beginnings.
At the time, Lansing didn’t have a brewery large enough to sell its beer outside of its own taproom. Now, there are breweries all over the map competing for marketshare.
Ellison has made it a mission to experiment. A continual refinement of beer, wine and spirits. Sure, we have the usual suspects, but we’re always looking for new flavors. With over 700 different locations across the great state of Michigan to purchase Ellison product, we’d like to say “people like our stuff”.

CIRCLE CITY LAGER
Brewed with a combination of malted barley, corn, and rice. Using a blend of hops it creates a flavorful experience with a clean, crisp finish that leaves you wanting more.
Beautiful colored Amber Ale greets you with an aroma of fruit and biscuits. With your first sip you'll notice the amount of both roasted and honey malts that went into making this delicious beer. Served in 16oz cans.

Chef Ricky developed his passion for cooking and food at a young age while growing up in the rolling hills
southwest of Indianapolis. Instead of watching cartoons, he was glued to the shows of The Galloping
Gourmet and Great Chefs of the World. Hunting, fishing, and foraging through the woods took up most
of his free time along with raising a garden with his family. Chef Ricky matriculated in Culinary Arts at Ivy
Tech School of Hospitality Management and achieved the prestigious Edmund Gasse Award for
Excellence in Hospitality. He began his career working in some of the top kitchens in Indianapolis.
Making a name for himself at Peterson’s Restaurant, where he kept the honors of Top Restaurant in
Indianapolis. While at Peterson’s, he built a global relationship with New Zealand Trade and Enterprise as
US Culinary Ambassador. Moving on Chef found himself with a highly anticipated opening of CharBlue
Restaurant, where they were voted “Top 10 Best New Restaurant”. Chef then set his sights at the top of
the One America Center at the help of the Skyline Club, Indy’s leading private membership club. Chef
joined forces with our Owner Aaron Hanson to open their first kitchen for this burgeoning Michigan
Brewery. With a focus on global and local ingredients, combined with progressive technique and creative
twists on culinary favorites, Chef Ricky is on a mission to deliver upscale, but approachable brewery food
here at Ellison’s.
